The Military Heritage Museum in Charlotte County recently took their History Day Camp students to the park. A total of 32 students participated. Using their recently donated van from the County, thanks to Commissioner Stephen R. Deutsch they were able to transport 8 students plus two teachers each day. When they arrived, the teachers had a lesson plan to share with the students on the story of William R Gaines Jr and the history of the park.
